Weather: Heat continues through Saturday; rain chances increase Sunday

From Staff Reports
The same weather pattern which Coweta County has endured this past work week will continue through Saturday, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
Folks here in Coweta can expect high temperatures in the lower 90s today and Saturday with those afternoon shower and thunderstorm chances. On Saturday, look for the Heat Index to be near 99 degrees and up to a 60 percent rain chance.
Sunday will bring more clouds and a 70 percent rain chance with a high of only 85 degrees. That’s where the weather forecast will begin to get a little complicated as Tropical Storm Fred approaches from the Gulf of Mexico.
