Weather: Mild start to work week, rain moves in Thursday

The start of Coweta County’s work week will have high temperatures in the mid-50s, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Today through Wednesday, folks can expect sunny to mostly sunny skies with highs ranging from 53 on Monday to 58 on Tuesday and 55 on Wednesday. Overnight lows will be 31 tonight and near 39 the following two nights. Northwest winds will be 5-15 mph, gusty to 20 on Monday.

Early Thursday, rain chances go up to 60 percent with cloudy skies and a high near 57.

And on Friday, mostly cloudy skies are in the forecast with a 40 percent chance of rain and a high near 55.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high of 54.

TODAY – Sunny, with a high near 53. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 31. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph after midnight.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 55. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

THURSDAY – Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 57. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

FRIDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55.
