Weather: Mostly sunny with slight chance of rain over the weekend

Mostly sunny skies, warm temperatures and a chance of a shower or thunderstorm sums up the weekend forecast for Coweta County.

A low pressure system off the Atlantic Coast will push increasing clouds and rain chances up to 30 percent today, 20 percent Saturday and 30 percent Sunday into the area. In the meantime, today’s high will be near 78 degrees, then 83 on Saturday and 85 on Sunday. East winds will be around 5 mph. 

Then it will get even warmer to start the work week on Monday with a forecast high of 87, near 88 on Tuesday and 91 on Wednesday and Thursday.

FRIDAY –   A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. East wind around 5 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT –   A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

SATURDAY –   A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT –  A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Calm wind.

SUNDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 87.
