From Staff Reports

If you have New Year’s Eve party plans on Saturday night, the forecast appears to be a good one for Coweta County.

The National Weather Service says a front will move through the area late tonight and early Saturday with rain chances listed at 80 percent tonight, 90 percent early Saturday. Those rain chances drop to less than 50 percent after Noon, then less than 10 percent after 6 p.m. So the Coweta fireworks outlook will be mostly cloudy skies with a low of 46 and little or no chance of rain when midnight strikes.

Today, look for increasing clouds to thicken to make things mostly cloudy with a high of 66 degrees. The showers and a possible thunderstorm begin to arrive after 9 p.m. this evening. Tonight’s low will be 54.

Saturday’s high under cloudy skies will be 66 with the rain moving out in the afternoon.

New Year’s Day will be mostly sunny with another high of 66 and the overnight low under mostly clear skies will be 47.

And for the first Monday in 2023, the work week begins with sunny skies and a high of 70.
