Weather: Sunny, dry weekend ahead for Coweta

After five consecutive days of rain in and around Coweta County, the weekend appears to be shaping up as mostly sunny and dry.

The National Weather Service says to expect a small chance of rain (20 percent) to hang around most of the day as the weather system moves eastward. By tonight, mostly clear skies will take over with a low around 59 degrees.

Saturday and Sunday will be almost mirror-images regarding forecasts. Both days should have mostly sunny to sunny skies with a high near 80 degrees and overnight lows of 61. And it stays the same for Columbus Day on Monday with a high of 79 and mostly sunny skies.

TODAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8am. Patchy dense fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. 

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 59. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. North wind around 5 mph. 

SATURDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 61. Calm wind.

SUNDAY – Sunny, with a high near 80. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

SUNDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 61.

MONDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
