Weather: Sunny skies, mild weekend on tap for Coweta

The weekend is shaping up to be a nice one, weather-wise, here in Coweta County.
Following last night’s round of rain and gusty winds associated with a fast-moving cold front, folks will start today under cloudy skies before gradually becoming sunny later this afternoon. It will be significantly cooler than yesterday’s high of 71 recorded at the Newnan-Coweta Airport. Expect only a high temperature of 51 degrees today with a Northwest wind at 10-15 mph, gusting to 20.
Tonight, the low drops to 30 under clear skies.
On Saturday and Sunday, the forecast calls for sunny skies with a high on Saturday of 59 and on Sunday near 60. Winds both days will be at 5-10 mph, from the Northwest on Saturday and East on Sunday. The overnight low on Sunday will be 42.
And the rain returns on Monday with an 80 percent chance with a high of 60.
