Weather: Warming Trend to push temps into 70s later this week

Though the official start of spring is some three weeks away (March 20), Coweta County will get an early dose of some spring-like weather this work week.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says after a brief cloudy start this morning, sunny skies return this afternoon and will remain a constant in the extended forecast. And with that sunshine high temperatures will increase daily from 60 today, to 66 on Tuesday, 71 Wednesday, 74 on Thursday and 75 on Friday. And Saturday’s high should be 76.

At this writing, no rain is mentioned in the extended forecast until at least Sunday. 

Overnight lows will be on the cool side to start the week. Tonight, expect a low near 37. On Tuesday, the low will be 39, then it will move into the mid-40s and reach 50 by Friday night.

MONDAY –  Areas of drizzle between 7am and 10am. Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 60. North wind around 5 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT –  Mostly clear, with a low around 37. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

TUESDAY –   Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

TUESDAY NIGHT –  Clear, with a low around 39. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 71. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 74.

FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 75.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 76.
