Weather Week in Coweta: 60 percent rain chance through Wednesday

Though Coweta County and Georgia is a couple of states away from the center of Tropical Storm Cristobal, some lingering effects of the system will be felt here locally according to the National Weather Service.
Trailing moisture from Cristobal out of the Gulf of Mexico will create a 60 percent rain chance here in Coweta today, Tuesday and into Wednesday. Both showers and thunderstorms are likely with high temperatures will be in the upper 80s. Winds will be from the southeast, then later southwest at 5-10 mph.
By Thursday, sunny skies will return and should remain in the forecast through the weekend. Highs again will be in the mid-to-upper 80s.

MONDAY – A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. Cloudy, with a high near 87. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
MONDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
TUESDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
TUESDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
WEDNESDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
