From Staff Reports

Today’s 7 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Wednesday, May 20.

Today’s Report shows that Coweta County was adjusted to drop one case and now has a cumulative total of 286 cases. The number of cumulative deaths (4) and hospitalizations (48) remain unchanged.

There is a discrepancy in the total number of cases and deaths in Coweta County involving published reports. A published report Monday from The Newnan Times-Herald listed a 5th death from May. Also, below in today’s Long-Term Care Facility Report from the Georgia Department of Community Health published at 7 p.m., a total of 14 new cases and 2 new deaths has been recorded at Newnan Health and Rehabilitation but not included on today’s Daily Status Report from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

If both the NTH and Long-Term Care Facility Report numbers are added to Coweta’s cumulative totals, the numbers should total 300 cases and 7 deaths instead of 286 and 4 (as per the GA Dept. of Public Health).
