From Staff Reports

Another spring weekend settles in here in the Coweta County area and there are plenty of things to do.

On Friday, folks can participate in the Newnan Police Department’s Golf Tournament for starters. Later in the evening, four plays are on the docket – East Coweta High’s Once on this Island, The Sound of Music at Newnan Theatre Company, the Bridges of Madison County at the Legacy Theatre in Tyrone and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde at Southside Theatre Guild in Fairburn. Also, country artist Scotty McCreery performs at the Southern Ground Amphitheater in Fayetteville.

On Saturday (weather permitting as you see below), three fun activities are set for the Chattahoochee Bend State Park and Lisa Kelly takes the stage with a performance at The Fred Amphitheater in Peachtree City. Three events have been cancelled due to the expected inclement weather – the 7th Annual Soles for Cole Race in Senoia (rescheduled for Aug. 3), Relay For Life of Coweta County at the Fairgrounds (rescheduled for Aug. 10) and the Night Market PTC (next date is June 8).

And finally on Sunday, the Georgia Renaissance Festival continues in Fairburn.

Weatherwise, a 70 percent rain chance is in both the Saturday and Sunday forecasts. Those rain chances drop to 40 percent at night. Highs will be 84 degrees today, 80 on Saturday and 75 on Sunday.

Below is the day-to-day listing of events in the area. To have your event published, please email [email protected].

When Hyde meets a woman who stirs his interest, Jekyll fears for her life and decides to end his experiments. But Hyde has other ideas, and so the two sides battle each other in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to determine who shall be the master and who his slave.
