Weekend Weather: Following today’s rain, expect dry, cold conditions in Coweta
From Staff Reports
A strong cold front will push through Coweta County and Georgia today, taking with it rain as much colder air moves in.
The cold front is the one bringing a huge winter and ice storm to our northern neighbors, but has only dropped rain here in Coweta. In fact, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Coweta County and surrounding area until 1 p.m. About the time it expires, folks can expect winds will begin picking up from the Northwest at about 10 mph, gusting to 20 as the temperature begins falling. Today’s high will be 46 but tonight’s low dips to 28.
On Saturday, sunny skies return with a high of only 47 and North winds at 5-10 mph, also gusting to 20 at times. The overnight low will be 27.
And on Sunday, sunny skies remain with a high near 50.
