Weekend Weather in Coweta: More rain, followed by colder temperatures

Once again it’s a weekend, and once again rain is forecast for Coweta County.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City also says much colder temperatures are heading to Coweta, too.

Today’s weather appears to be the best of the weekend. Look for partly sunny skies with a high near 54 degrees but gusty winds as high as 20 mph.

An 80 percent rain chance moves into the area on Saturday and Saturday night with highs of 58. Then on Sunday, clearing will begin in the afternoon and temperatures will eventually drop to a low of 27 on Sunday night.

Below is the day-by-day forecast from NWS (as of 6 a.m. today, subject to change):

FRIDAY – Partly sunny, with a high near 54. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. East wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

SATURDAY – Showers, mainly after 7am. High near 58. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

SATURDAY NIGHT – Showers likely, mainly before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 38. South wind around 5 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

SUNDAY – A 10 percent chance of showers before 7am. Partly sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.
