Weekend Weather in Coweta: High temps near 90

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect high temperatures this weekend near 90 degrees here in Coweta County.

Highs are forecast for 85 degrees today, 87 on Saturday and 89 on Sunday, the first official day of summer. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies all weekend with lows overnight near 70.

Rain chances are at 30 percent on Friday and 10 percent on Saturday. There is no mention of showers or thunderstorms in the forecast for Sunday.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the NWS:

FRIDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Calm wind.

SATURDAY – A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

SATURDAY NIGHT – A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Calm wind.

SUNDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 69.
