Weekend Weather: Rain moves in later today, Saturday; Sunshine returns Sunday

Both rain and sun are in this weekend’s forecast for Coweta County, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
Today, expect mostly cloudy skies with a high near 67 degrees. Rain chances go from 20 percent this afternoon to 50 percent overnight.
On Saturday, a cold front moves through thus making it a rain event here in the area with an 80 percent chance forecast throughout the day. The high temperature will be near 66. Rainfall amounts between a quarter and a half inch is possible.
And on Sunday, sunny skies return with a high near 56 degrees and the wind from the Northwest at 5-10 mph. Sunday night’s low will be 36.

FRIDAY NIGHT – A chance of rain before 7pm, then a chance of showers, mainly after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
SATURDAY – Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. High near 66. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
SATURDAY NIGHT – Showers likely, mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
SUNDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 56. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
