With spring finally settling in, it means only one thing here and around Coweta County … plenty of things to do over the course of a weekend.
The three-day set of April 26-27-28 is no exception as the calendar of events is filled to the brim.
Friday offers the Royal Baptist Kids Consignment Sale, Tools for Empowerment Ribbon-Cutting, the Heard County Cattlemen’s Association Rodeo and a performance of “The Bridges of Madison County” at The Legacy Theatre.
Saturday is packed with a pair of events at the Chattahoochee Bend State Park, Abby’s Angels Run, Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA, the UWG Newnan Family Fun Day, WWII Heritage Days in Peachtree City, the Spring Homes Tour in Newnan and the Drive & Dine Experience benefitting Christian City.
And Sunday, the Taste of Senoia highlights another busy day.
The weather should be excellent for all the outdoor activities. A slight chance of rain will move out by mid-morning with skies clearing for weekend. It will be windy today with northwest winds up to 20-25 mph at times. Otherwise, high temperatures throughout the weekend will reach 73 today, 77 Saturday and 80 on Sunday.

Royal Baptist Kids Consignment Sale
Two-day event. Clothing and shoes for infants, toddlers, kids, and pre-teens, plus maternity clothing, as well as books, toys, furniture and other baby items. This year we will also have a separate section for Boutique items!

Heard County Cattlemen’s Association Rodeo
This two-night event features both cowboys and cowgirls competing in eight events each night such as bull riding, team roping, calf roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, bareback bronc riding and a concert from Charlie Hudgins. The PCA sanctioned Rodeo event takes place at the Heard County Covered Arena. Gates open at 6 p.m. each night.

The Bridges of Madison County

Experience the sights and sounds of World War II when the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Dixie Wing hosts the 16th Annual WWII Heritage Days on Saturday and Sunday. Takes place at the Commemorative Air Force Dixie Wing Historical Airpower Facility, Falcon Field. We bring together re-enactors, WWII vehicles, vintage aircraft, authors, WWII Veterans and exhibits as a living history experience for the entire family. “WWII Heritage Days” is a community celebration that will entertain and educate the entire family.
