Weekend Weather in Coweta: After windy start, sunny and warm

With rain moving out of the Coweta County area by mid-morning, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures for Saturday and Sunday.

Today’s skies will eventually become sunny later today with a high near 73. But look for windy conditions as winds shift from the west to northwest and gusts could reach 25 mph.

On Saturday and Sunday, expect sunny skies with highs near 80.

Below is the day-by-day forecast by the NWS (as of 6 a.m.):

FRIDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 9am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 73. Windy, with a west wind 10 to 15 mph becoming northwest 20 to 25 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 47. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

SATURDAY – Sunny, with a high near 77. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

SATURDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 54. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 57.
