2021 Home Helpers Caregiver of the Year, Honor Roll announced

As 2021 comes to an end, we look forward with anticipation to our world getting closer to normal and we look back with gratitude: gratitude for our caregivers who were out in the field, day-after-day, caring for our clients. Unlike many seniors during the restrictions of the pandemic, our seniors thrived. They enjoyed engagement, support and the care only someone with a true heart for caregiving, can give.
So, we see it only fitting to celebrate a few of our fabulous caregivers and all they have done for our clients, not just this year, but for years gone by and years to come.
CAREGIVER OF THE YEAR – Mariya Raycheva. Mariya has been with Home Helpers of Georgia and Alabama since 2016! She is a Rock Star among Rock Stars! Mariya is not only one of our most caring and skilled caregivers, she is always the first one to step up and lend a hand whenever we need her. She is sweet beyond measure. A pure, sincere, compassionate soul that was made to care for others. Our clients have better lives because Mariya is in their life.
TEAM OF THE YEAR – Our 24/7 clients require a team of caregivers. This can be tricky. Anytime you have multiple people caring for someone, there is ample opportunity for personalities and egos to clash. To be successful, everyone must believe in the power of teamwork and respect each other. This year we want to celebrate such a team. This team has been caring for their client since 2017! Some members of the team have changed over the years, but this team of 2021 has been the best team ever! This year’s Team of the Year is Tracy Owens, Breanna Allen, Vera Ogletree, and Patsy Irvin!
Our HALL OF FAME AWARD goes to our caregivers who have been with us through thick and thin, pandemic and all. These folks are the capstones of Home Helpers. In an industry where the turnover is measured in months, these caregivers have been with Home Helpers of Georgia and Alabama for over 5 years! Thank you so much for all you have given to so many clients through the years. Our Hall of Fame members are Breanna Allen, Carol Dillabough, Cortney Dixon, Tosha McRae, Vera Ogletree, Tracy Owens, Mariya Raycheva, Sherika Smith, Kenneth Lipscomb (8 years!), Wilma Blunt (9 years!), Yolanda Alexander (10 years!), and Melva Homes (12 years!).
Our RISING STAR AWARD is for someone who has been with us a minimum of a year but has shown dedication to their client and commitment to the Home Helpers team. This year’s Rising Star has only been with us for one year but has jumped in with both feet. She is conscientious, compassionate and caring. We look forward to many more years of her providing exceptional care for her clients. This year’s Rising Star Award goes to Lynn Moore!
The caregivers listed above are only a small portion of the phenomenal caregivers we have who go out each day and make a difference in the lives of others. I am blessed beyond measure to have the team I have represent Home Helpers of GA & AL. I tell them all the time that I will never be able to pay them what they are worth, because there is no price tag for what they give to the people they care for. I want to publicly thank each and everyone of our team for all they do for our clients! Thank you!
