CTCA Gets Major Re-Certification

From Special Reports
Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), Atlanta has received re-certification by the QOPI® Certification Program, a subsidiary of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO®). The program provides a three-year certification for outpatient hematology-oncology practices that meet standards for quality and safety in cancer care. This designation arrives on the heels of a three-year accreditation renewal from The Joint Commission earlier this year.
In applying for re-certification, CTCA Atlanta had to meet the program’s requirements, which includes participating in a voluntary comprehensive site assessment against clearly specified standards that are consistent with national guidelines and being successful in meeting the standards and objectives of the QOPI® Certification Program.
Core standards in areas of treatment include:
- Creating a safe environment—staffing, competencies, and general policy
- Treatment planning, patient consent, and education
- Staff training and education
- Monitoring and assessment of patient well-being
QOPI® and the QOPI® Certification Program are projects dedicated to innovative quality improvement programs. For more information, please visit: https://practice.asco.org/quality-improvement/quality-programs.
