On the heels of National Cancer Survivors Day, Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Atlanta honored more than 400 patients from across the nation for Celebrate Life®, a momentous occasion marking five or more years since they began treatment at CTCA.

On June 5 during Celebrate Life, survivors enjoyed a “red carpet” sendoff from CTCA in Newnan before being honored at a special off-site ceremony. Each was honored with a ceremonial tree planted in his or her name to symbolize courage and hope for years to come. Celebrants names were also added to a new mural in the hospital’s dining room featuring the names of five-year survivors – past, present and future.

“Emotions run high for the entire hospital team during this awesome celebration,” said medical oncologist Dr. Haritha Pabbathi. “Celebrate Life connects us to our purpose and to our patients and colleagues in an incredibly meaningful way.”

CTCA Atlanta has been an integral part of the Georgia healthcare landscape since opening in August of 2012. With the recent passage of House Bill 186, the specialty hospital stands ready to serve more Georgia patients who seek CTCA for their cancer care.

CTCA Atlanta is part of Cancer Treatment Centers of America Global, Inc. (CTCA), a comprehensive cancer care network of hospitals and outpatient care centers in Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Tulsa.
