Check Out These New Lightweight Bullet Proof Shields
Members of the Newnan Coweta Public Safety Committee and the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office showed off new bulletproof shields on Wednesday.
The lightweight eight pound shields were purchased by the committee for the sheriff’s office. Each shield costs $3,500 each and four were purchased. In comparison, a typical SWAT shield weighs about 25 pounds.
Made by Swift Shield, the full shield can be folded into a quarter size – similar to a large notebook computer.
