Flash Flood Watch in effect for Coweta until late tonight

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect from now through late tonight for Coweta County and surrounding areas.

Today’s forecast calls for 100 percent rain chance for most of the day with new rainfall amounts reaching near an inch. In addition, temperatures will be dropping throughout the day as a cold front pushes through and temperatures drop to near 30 degrees tonight.

Here’s the forecast from the NWS:

TODAY – Rain. High near 44. Northeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

TONIGHT – A chance of rain, possibly mixing with snow after midnight, then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. North wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
