Friday: Coweta hits the 3,000-case mark

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, Oct. 30.
COWETA COUNTY CASES
Coweta County confirmed 17 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, pushing the cumulative total to an even 3,000 since the pandemic began. There we no deaths or hospitalizations reported. For comparison, neighboring county cumulative totals include Carroll with 3370 cases, Troup 3064, Fayette 2145, Spalding 1617, Meriwether 598 and Heard with 237. In October, Coweta has posted 372 cases for an average of 12.4 per day.
The age group of 55-64 years old had 6 new cases on Friday, the highest of all groups.
To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 3000 cases, 63 deaths and 151 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 8.0 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 7.5 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).
GEORGIA CASES
Across the state, Georgia confirmed 1377 cases on Friday (down 446 from Thursday’s totals) with 32 deaths, 90 hospitalizations and 13 ICU admits. The state has posted 40,199 cases in the month of October or an average of 1,340 per day. It’s the 76th straight day below 3,000 cases.
Presently, there are 1,373 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID, down 51 from Thursday’s total.
Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 358,225 cases, 7955 deaths, 31,606 hospitalizations and 5940 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.5 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.9 percent.
Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
