Monday: Coweta adds 10 new cases of COVID-19

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Monday, Oct. 19.

COWETA COUNTY CASES

Coweta County confirmed 10 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday with no deaths or hospitalizations reported. Of the 10 cases, the highest number (3) came in the age group of 45-54 years old. For the month of October, Coweta is averaging 12.3 cases per day (233 total).

To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 2861 cases, which ranks 28th among all 159 Georgia counties. Coweta has posted 60 deaths (34th in Georgia) and 142 hospitalizations (43rd in Georgia). The overall positive test rate is 8.0 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 5.8 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

GEORGIA CASES

Statewide on Monday, Georgia confirmed 752 cases (down 422 from Sunday’s total). It’s the lowest number of cases since 596 on Sept. 28. Also on Monday, the state had 19 deaths, 12 hospitalizations (lowest since 3 on June 7) and 2 ICU admits (lowest since 2 on June 7).

It’s also the 30th consecutive day Georgia has been below 2,000 cases in a single day, the 65th straight day below 3,000.

Presently, there are 1,296 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID.

Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 341,310 cases, 7657 deaths, 30,388 hospitalizations and 5665 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.6 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 5.7 percent.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
