From Staff Reports

Lauren Odom has accepted the position of Director of Institutional Giving for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.

Odom will move into the new position with the BGCMA’s Resource Development Department at the conclusion of this summer’s program here locally. She currently is the Senior Executive Director for the Newnan/Coweta and Howard Warner Boys & Girls Clubs.

In a letter to the Coweta County Board of Directors on Tuesday (June 28), Odom writes that she is delighted to remain within the umbrella of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta. She has spent 10 years working with the Coweta clubs.

“I am excited to stay within the (BGCMA) and grateful for the opportunity to grow, hone my skills in fundraising and work with each of the Clubs in Metro Atlanta in a new capacity,” she said.

I have enjoyed my time serving the youth in Coweta County and appreciate having had the opportunity to work with (Board of Directors). Thank you for the support, guidance, and encouragement you all have provided me during my time in Coweta County.”

Also in the letter, Odom writes about many of the activities that she directs that are taking place this summer with the Coweta Boys and Girls Clubs.

“Members at both the Howard Warner and Wesley Street Clubs are currently making summer memories with the annual overnight trip to Camp Kiwanis while closing the gap with summer learning loss through our Brain Gain program. You can find our members engaging in exciting programs, playing friendly games of kickball, keeping cool with the Newnan Police on “Popsicle Day,” and just simply enjoying the childhood joys of summer vacation.”

“After all that we’ve been through over the last two years, this summer has been nothing short of amazing for the members.”
