Weather Week in Coweta: Sunny skies give way to rain by weekend

This work week in Coweta County will have mostly sunny skies through Thursday before rain chances increase just in time for the weekend.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City forecasts sunny to mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 70s all the way to Thursday. Then clouds and moisture from the Gulf of Mexico make their way to the area and rain chances jump from 30 percent on Thursday to 50 percent on Friday.

Lows through the week will be in the 60s with the exception of Monday night as the overnight low will be near 54.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the National Weather Service:

MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 78. East wind around 5 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 54. East wind around 5 mph.

TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 79. East wind around 5 mph.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

THURSDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers after 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 78.

FRIDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 76.
