Monday: Coweta records 21 new COVID-19 cases

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Monday, Aug. 3.

Today, Coweta County posted 21 new cases of COVID-19, with no deaths or hospitalizations to report.

It is the 14th consecutive day Coweta has seen double-digit new cases. In those 14 days (since July 21), Coweta has registered 340 cases, 5 deaths and 23 hospitalizations.  In the previous 14 days (July 7-20), Coweta had 232 cases, 0 deaths and 9 hospitalizations.

Cumulative totals for Coweta now stand at 1359 cases, 21 deaths and 94 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (48 on July 23); deaths (3 on May 21); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

As usual coming off a weekend, Georgia’s daily COVID-19 numbers are a bit lower. Today, Georgia had 2,258 new cases (the lowest since July 6), 2 deaths, 60 hospitalizations and 16 ICU admits. It was still the 43rd consecutive day Georgia had over 1,000 new cases.

Presently, there are 3,111 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID-19.

Overall, Georgia has 195,435 cumulative cases, 3842 deaths, 19,124 hospitalizations and 3512 ICU admits.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (94 on April 20); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (85 on July 24).
