Monday Daily Status Report: Coweta with 45 new cases today

The 7 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Memorial Day, Monday, May 25.

Today’s Report shows an incredible 45 new cases in Coweta County today, though deaths and hospitalizations did not change. The 45 cases are the highest single-day cumulative total for Coweta and now brings the overall total to 376 to go along with 8 deaths and 50 hospitalizations. Also, that’s 90 new cases in Coweta since Thursday, May 21.

It’s been 72 hours since the Georgia Department of Community Health has updated its Long-Term Care Report. The last update on Friday (May 22) had shown a 24-case increase at Newnan Health and Rehabilitation in the past week. The other facility with recent increases was Watercrest Assisted Living and Memory Care with 7 cases.  At press time without the official Community Health report, which it clearly states on its website to be updated by 2 p.m. daily, no specific reason or location can be given for the sudden increase today.

Statewide today, Georgia recorded 498 new cases with 21 deaths, 57 hospitalized and 10 admitted to ICU.

In the last two days combined (Sunday and Monday), Georgia has had 1158 cases, 26 deaths, 76 hospitalized and 14 to ICU.

Overall, Georgia now has a cumulative total of 43,400 cases, 1848 deaths, 7507 hospitalized and 1694 ICU admits. The total number of tests administered now stands at 513,545.
