April at long last, April showers, spring flowers, birds, bees and butterflies. I am so excited as I look forward to warmer weather, the return of Market Day on the Square and the upcoming MainStreet events that happen each month.
The treasure of the month for the Courthouse Square, the best kept secret in all of Georgia, is Murphey Florist located at 6 LaGrange St. It was founded in 1946 and is owned by the third generation of Murpheys. The staff is always very busy, well traveled, proficient and professional in what they do in the art of flower crafting.

I want to give a shout out in honor of Miss Pearl, whom I just discovered in the Sunday edition of The Newnan Times-Herald. Who needs Dear Abby when you have Miss Pearl? I was sorta heartbroken when I found out she is married, after all, you don’t see many Miss Pearls anymore.
When I was a young boy, every neighborhood had at least one Miss Pearl and they would tell your momma if you were misbehaving. Ah, the good old days.
Mr. Personality’s 2018 calendars are off the market now, but my book, Personality Matters, can be found at Let Them Eat Toffee, Gillyweeds and One Divine Design. Better get them while they last. I only have 14 left in total.
I hope to see the Courthouse Square and the Greenville Street Park teeming with people now that warmer weather is here. I am amazed at the number of people I meet that are moving to Newnan. Almost every weekend as I dance for Deal 4 Dollars, I meet people visiting or moving in. I am going to get a t-shirt that says “Welcome to Newnan.”
I am so happy to meet all the many interesting people that roam around the Courthouse Square. In fact, I am meeting so many wonderful people that I do not have the time to converse with all of them so I have been adding people to my mailing list in which I share my joy and love the the Courthouse Square and my spiritual adventures through letters. I now have 98 addresses on my long list.
