Rain moves in overnight, clearing by Sunday

Another weekend and another rain threat here in Coweta County. This time, the National Weather Service forecast calls for a 90 percent chance with the possibility of severe storms on Saturday afternoon.
Today, folks will get partly sunny skies here in Coweta with a high near 70 degrees. Overnight, more clouds will move in as the first rain approaches early into Saturday morning. The low will be 52.
Storms will push into Coweta County on Saturday morning with the possibility of redevelopment later in the afternoon. According to the NWS, Coweta will be in the Slight Risk area for severe weather, an area basically from I-20 south. The primary threats will be heavy rainfall, damaging wind gusts, hail and brief tornadoes. The high will be 71 and the overnight low 52.
Sunday will be the best day of the weekend with sunny skies and a high near 73 degrees.
And to get the work week started, Monday will also have sunny skies with a high of 79.

FRIDAY NIGHT – Showers likely, mainly after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
SATURDAY – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 71. East wind around 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
SATURDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
SUNDAY – Sunny, with a high near 73. Northwest wind around 5 mph.
SUNDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 49.
MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 79.
