Ruth Whitaker selected as Artist of the Month

The Newnan Coweta Art Association has selected Ruth Whitaker as its featured Artist of the Month for July. Whitaker’s art will be featured in the City Manager’s Office at City Hall until July 31.
Each month, local artists are named Artist of the Month. The City has collaborated with the Newnan-Coweta Art Association and some local art galleries on this project. It gives local artists the opportunity to display their work in City Hall and a chance for the city to support the arts.
About Ruth Whitaker
Ruth Whitaker’s interests in art stems from childhood lessons with her mother involving school chalk in their carport in south Florida. She has enjoyed acrylic painting classes from noted artist Kay Stanley and drawing classes from well-known artist Martin Pate for the last eight years. Ruth has also been following and taking workshops from renowned pastel artist Karen Margulis for five years. She has been an active member of the Art Association for the same duration. Her work has been displayed across Coweta County.
