The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Saturday, Oct. 24.
COWETA COUNTY CASES
Coweta County confirmed 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday with 0 deaths and 0 hospitalizations reported. Today’s cases push the October cumulative total to 300 or an average of 12.5 per day.
To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 2928 cases, 63 deaths and 145 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 8.0 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 5.7 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).
GEORGIA CASES
In Georgia on Saturday, the state was back below 2000 cases by confirming 1846 cases (down 378 from Friday’s total). A 33-day streak of being below 2000 cases was broken yesterday with 2224. Also on Saturday, Georgia had 42 deaths, 97 hospitalizations and 21 ICU admits. It’s the 70th straight day below 3,000.
Presently, there are 1,329 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID.
Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 349,605 cases, 7808 deaths, 31,046 hospitalizations and 5822 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.5 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.3 percent.
Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
