Summer NewnaNights series begins tonight

Main Street Newnan kicks off its annual Summer NewnaNights series tonight at Greenville Street Park with music from Lerogie.

This free event will be held from 6-9 p.m. Food trucks will be on site to purchase food, as well as a small artisan market. Some downtown businesses will stay open late during the series to feature specials and promotions for shoppers and guests. This is also an open container event.

Weather is always important for outside events and the National Weather Service forecast calls for clear skies tonight. Temperatures during the event should be around 75 degrees.

The Summer NewnaNight series will be held on the second Thursday during the months of June, July and August. Each series will showcase a different performer and music genre.

Following tonight’s concert,  THEM will take the stage at Greenville Street Park on July 11. THEM is a band of brothers from other mothers who want nothing more than to play good music for people, will take the stage performing rock and roll, pop rock, classic rock, and blues.

Closing the series on Aug. 8 will be the JoeJack Band, a rock ‘n roll duo that puts on a high energy show with the sounds of the pioneers of rockabilly will take the stage.

Free parking is available along downtown streets, and in the City of Newnan’s public parking lots, located at: 13 LaGrange Street, 25 LaGrange Street, 22 Spring Street, 6 First Avenue, 50 East Broad Street, 65 East Broad Street, 41 East Washington Street and 22 East Broad Street.
