Sunday: Coweta surpasses 1,000-mark in COVID-19 cases

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Sunday, July 19.

Today, Coweta County broke the 1,000-mark for COVID-19 cases by adding 22 new cases. Sunday’s cases pushes the cumulative total for Coweta to 1,010 cases. It is also the 6th consecutive day Coweta has recorded 10-or-more new cases, totaling 113 cases, 0 deaths and 6 hospitalizations during that span. No deaths or hospitalizations were reported on Sunday.

Other cumulative totals for Coweta are 16 deaths and 71 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (46 on July 3); deaths (3 on May 21); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

Georgia dropped by 1,400 cases from Saturday’s record-breaking 4,689 cases. Today, Georgia recorded 3,251 new cases with 5 deaths, 49 hospitalizations and 3 ICU admits. It is the 28th consecutive day the state has had 1,000-or-more cases in a single day and the 12th time since July 1 with 3,000-or-more cases.

Presently, there are 3,036 people hospitalized statewide with COVID-19.

Overall, Georgia has 143,123 cumulative cases, 3173 deaths, 15,010 hospitalizations and 2822 ICU admits.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,689 on July 18); deaths (94 on April 20); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (46 on July 10).
