Sunday Daily Status Report: Coweta now at 417 cases, 9 deaths

The 7 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Sunday, May 31.
Today, Coweta County posted two new cases of COVID-19, one death and no additional hospitalizations. The death posted today was of a 71-year-old female. Coweta’s cumulative total is now at 417 cases, 9 deaths and 51 hospitalizations. The deaths by gender and age: female, 42; male, 77; female, 58; female, 84; female, 63; female, 90-plus; female, 58; female, 78; and female, 71.
Still today, there remains a discrepancy in Coweta deaths between the Long-Term Care Report (provided by the GA Department of Community Health) and the Daily Status Report (from the GA Department of Public Health). The Long-Term Care Report listed 4 deaths – since Wednesday – among the data for Newnan Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home, but only 3 of those have been transferred to the Daily Status Report. Coweta’s death totals should rise to 10 in a future DPH reporting cycle.
Statewide today, Georgia recorded 732 new cases (highest single-day total since 760 on May 23) with 49 deaths, 24 hospitalized and 2 admitted to ICU.
In the last two days combined (Saturday and Sunday), Georgia has had 1200 cases, 69 deaths, 37 hospitalized and 6 to ICU.
Overall, Georgia now has a cumulative total of 47,063 cases, 2053 deaths, 7951 hospitalized and 1795 ICU admits. The total number of tests administered now stands at 553,986, though 88,461 of that total were antibody tests.
