The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Thursday, Oct. 29.

COWETA COUNTY CASES

Coweta County confirmed 12 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday with 0 deaths and 3 hospitalizations (the most since 3 on Sept. 25). The dozen cases broke a string of 3 consecutive days with single-digit cases. For the month of October, Coweta has posted 355 cases or an average of 12.2 per day.

The age group of 25-34 years old had 4 new cases today, the highest of all groups.

To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 2983 cases, 63 deaths and 151 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 7.9 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.4 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

GEORGIA CASES

Statewide on Thursday, Georgia confirmed 1823 cases (up 170 from Wednesday’s totals) with 47 deaths, 146 hospitalizations and 39 ICU admits. The state has posted 38,822 cases in the month of October or an average of 1,338 per day. It’s the 75th straight day below 3,000 cases.

Presently, there are 1,424 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID, up 5 from Wednesday’s total.

Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 356,848 cases, 7923 deaths, 31,516 hospitalizations and 5927 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.5 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.8 percent.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
