Once again, it’s the weekend here in Coweta County and there’s plenty of things going on to keep you busy.

Tonight, it’s the Senoia Merchant Open House in Downtown Senoia and the high school state football playoffs begin.

Tomorrow, check out the 20th annual Alpha Delta Kappa Coweta Christmas at the Fairgrounds and the Newnan High’s Student-Vet Connect 5 K leading into the Downtown Newnan Veteran’s Parade.

And Sunday, it’s Veterans Day. Also, the second day of the Southern Hands Artist Studio Tour concludes.

Senoia Merchant Open House
The holiday season kicks off in Downtown Senoia as local businesses introduce to customers merchandise for the upcoming Christmas holidays. The event from 5-8 p.m.

Five local teams are in the state playoffs which begin tonight. Both Newnan and Trinity Christian are hosting games on campus. Heritage School has a first-round bye.

Fall Sunset Hike at The Bend
Come out to Chattahoochee Bend State Park from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Join our naturalist for a moderate 2 mile hike on the river trail to enjoy the fallen leaves and sunset. $3 per person, meet at Day Use Area near the boat ramp. $3 plus $5 parking. 770-254-7271.

Coweta Veterans Club – Buddy Poppies
The American Legion Post 57 Auxiliary will be giving out Buddy Poppies on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at all Kroger locations as well as Lowes and Home Depot. These Poppies are to remind us of our fallen soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Donations are always welcome. Thank you for your support.

Newnan High School’s 5th Annual Student-Vet Connect Veterans Relief Fund 5K and Dog Walk. Starts at 7:45 a.m. Cost is $20 for Newnan High students and all others $25. 20th Annual Alpha Delta Kappa Coweta Christmas
Coweta Christmas at the Coweta County Fairgrounds from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Free and open to the public. Local children’s choral and dance groups. Vendors selling Christmas gifts. Silent Auction. Children’s Secret Santa Shop. Photos with Santa Claus. Children’s Crafts (minimal charge). Food and drinks. Fun for all ages! This event is sponsored by Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary organization for women educators dedicated to educational excellence, altruism, and world understanding. Proceeds from this event are used to provide one scholarship at each of the Coweta County High Schools to students who have decided to major in education upon entering college.
