Thursday: Coweta confirms 13 new cases, 3 deaths

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Thursday, Sept. 3.
Today, Coweta County confirmed 13 new cases of COVID-19, 3 deaths and no hospitalizations. The deaths were of a 74-year-old black male, an 80-year-old white male and a 72-year-old white female. No underlying conditions were reported in the three deaths.

Thursday’s cases move the Coweta cumulative total to 2297, up from Wednesday’s sum of 2284. Other cumulative totals to date include 29 deaths and 110 hospitalizations.
Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).
In Georgia, the number of cases rose by over 700 from yesterday. Thursday’s numbers were 2675 cases, 73 deaths, 234 hospitalizations and 40 ICU admits. It’s the 19th straight day below 3,000 cases.
Presently, there are 1793 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19, a decrease of 66 from Wednesday.
Overall, Georgia now stands at 277,288 cases, 5868 deaths, 25,259 hospitalizations and 4628 ICU admits.
Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
