Friday: Coweta increases by 35 new COVID-19 cases, Georgia sets single-day high

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, July 10.

Coweta County jumped 35 new cases today, which is the third-highest single day total since the pandemic began. The top two marks were 46 cases on July 3 and 45 cases on May 25. In addition, 2 new hospitalizations were recorded today but no deaths were reported. It  marked the 10th time in the last 11 days Coweta has had 10-or-more new cases in a 24-hour period.

Coweta County’s cumulative totals include 856 cases, 16 deaths and 65 hospitalizations.

Today, Georgia set its single-day high of new cases with 4,484, surpassing the old mark of 3,472 set on July 2. The state posted 35 deaths, 331 hospitalizations (the most since 351 on June 1) and a single-day high of 46 ICU admits.

It is the 19th consecutive day the state had 1,000-or-more cases in a single day.

Overall, Georgia has 111,211 cumulative cases, 2965 deaths, 12,937 hospitalizations and 2565 ICU admits.
