Today’s 7 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Thursday, May 21.

Today’s Report shows that Coweta County increased by 17 new cases, 3 deaths and 1 hospitalization. The 17 new cases ties the high mark for a single day, when Coweta also had 17 cases on May 3. The cumulative totals for Coweta are 303 cases, 7 deaths and 49 hospitalizations.

The seven deaths are of a 42-year-old female with underlying conditions, 77-year-old male with underlying conditions, a 58-year-old female, an 84-year-old female with underlying conditions, a 63-year-old female, a 90-plus-year-old female and a 58-year-old female.

In Georgia today, a total of 862 new cases were recorded, as well as 78 deaths, 118 hospitalizations and 21 admitted to ICU.

In the last two days combined (Wednesday and Thursday), Georgia has had 1808 new cases, 100 deaths, 213 folks hospitalized and 44 admitted to ICU.

Overall, Georgia now has a cumulative total of 40,663 cases, 1775 deaths, 7289 hospitalized and 1651 ICU admits. The total number of tests administered now stands at 407,748.
