Tuesday Daily Status Report: Coweta rises by 6 cases, 1 death

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Tuesday, June 9.

Coweta County recorded 6 new cases today, including 1 death and 1 hospitalization. The death was of a 65-year-old male. The cumulative total for Coweta now stands at 474 cases, 10 deaths and 54 hospitalizations.

A discrepancy does exist between the two state generated reports – Daily Status Report and Long-Term Care Facility Report – regarding deaths in Coweta. Six of the 10 resident deaths at Newnan Health and Rehabilitation have not been listed on the Daily Status Report by the GA DPH. If and/or when they are moved to that listing, Coweta County will have 16 overall deaths due to COVID-19. The Long-Term Care Facility Report is a product of the Georgia Department of Community Health.

Today, Georgia recorded 752 new cases, 77 deaths, 126 hospitalizations and 35 ICU admits.

In the last two days combined (Monday and Tuesday), Georgia has had 1351 cases, 105 deaths, 187 hospitalized and 51 to ICU.

Overall, Georgia now has a cumulative total of 53,249 cases, 2285 deaths, 8872 hospitalized and 1960 ICU admits. The total number of tests administered now stands at 657,068, though 105,160 (about 16 percent) of that total are antibody tests.
