Friday Daily Status Report: Coweta rises to 311 cases

Today’s 7 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, May 22.

Today’s Report shows that Coweta County increased by 8 new cases and 1 hospitalization. The cumulative totals for Coweta are now 311 cases, 7 deaths and 50 hospitalizations.

There is a discrepancy due to the outbreak at Newnan Health & Rehabilitation, a nursing home on East Broad Street. Today, the Long-Term Health Care Facility Report indicated Newnan Health and Rehab had 10 new positive cases (6 residents, 4 staff). If added to the Daily Status Report, Coweta County would have at least 313 cases.

In Georgia today, a total of 819 new cases were recorded, as well as 33 deaths, 87 hospitalizations and 20 admitted to ICU.

In the last two days combined (Thursday and Friday), Georgia has had 1681 new cases, 111 deaths, 205 folks hospitalized and 41 admitted to ICU.

Overall, Georgia now has a cumulative total of 41,482 cases, 1808 deaths, 7376 hospitalized and 1671 ICU admits. The total number of tests administered now stands at 427,249.
