Tuesday: Coweta confirms 39 new COVID-19 cases

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Today, Coweta County confirmed 39 new cases of COVID-19 with no deaths or hospitalizations reported. It’s the 29th consecutive day that Coweta has seen double-digit cases and so far in August, the daily case average is 29.8 with a total of 536 cases.
Cumulative totals to date for Coweta include 1832 cases, 26 deaths and 106 hospitalizations.
Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (63 on Aug. 14); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).
In Georgia, there were 2816 cases today – an increase of nearly 1,000 from Monday. Other numbers included 67 deaths, 296 hospitalizations and 56 ICU admits.
Presently, there are 2596 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19, a decrease of 30 from Monday.
Overall, Georgia now stands at 241,677 cumulative cases, 4794 deaths, 22,429 hospitalizations and 4117 ICU admits.
Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
