Update – Sunday Evening Report: Coweta now at 230 cases

UPDATE (8:25 p.m.) – Today’s second Daily Status Report has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Sunday, May 3.

This report indicates 28,671 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia (an increase of 69 from Sunday’s noon report) and 1181 deaths (an increase of 4 from earlier today).

In Coweta County, the number of new cases rose by 11 since this afternoon to now total 230. In fact, today was the highest number of cases in a single day – 17 – for Coweta since the reporting began in March. The 4 deaths remained unchanged and 1 new hospitalization was reported, bringing the total to 38. Since midday Friday, Coweta has reported 35 new cases.

Adding the Georgia totals for today (Sunday) only, there’s 339 new cases, 7 deaths and 18 people hospitalized.

In the last two days (Saturday and Sunday), Georgia had 1179 new cases, 16 deaths and 100 folks hospitalized.
