UPDATE  (7 p.m.) – Today’s second Daily Status Report has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Sunday, April 12.

This report indicates 12,545 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia (an increase of 93 from today’s noon report) and 442 deaths (an increase of 9 from earlier today). In Coweta County, the number of confirmed cases rose to 106 (an increase of 3 from earlier today) and 2 deaths remain unchanged.

The top five counties in Georgia with the most confirmed cases – Fulton 1490, Dougherty 1173, DeKalb 891, Cobb 726 and Gwinnett 700.

The counties in Georgia with the most fatalities – Dougherty 72, Fulton 50, Cobb 35, Gwinnett 19, Bartow 16, Lee 15, DeKalb 14, Mitchell 14, Clayton 11, Clarke 11, and Terrell 10.

The confirmed cases-deaths in counties nearby – Fulton 1490-50, Clayton 370-11, Henry 263-3, Carroll 210-5, Douglas 158-5, Muscogee 156-4, Coweta 106-2, Fayette 100-4, Spalding 73-4, Troup 60-3, Meriwether 23-0, Haralson 16-0, Heard 4-1.

Total number of people hospitalized in Georgia due to COVID-19 – 2,516 (an increase of 11 from earlier today).

Adding the totals for today (Easter Sunday) only, there’s 284 new cases, 10 deaths and 25 people hospitalized in Georgia during the last 24 hours.
