Weather: Cool, breezy start to work week in Coweta

The extended weather forecast for Coweta County will have sunny skies, slightly cooler-than-normal temperatures and high winds, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Folks in Coweta can expect high temperatures near 70 degrees through Wednesday under sunny skies with overnight lows in the mid-40s. However, West winds will average 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 to 30 at times.

A warming trend begins Thursday with a high of 75. Then clouds will increase by Friday with the week’s first chance of rain, listed at 20 percent and a high near 77. Saturday’s high will be 79 with a 30 percent rain chance.

MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 67. West wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 45. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 70. West wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 46. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 69. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 75.

FRIDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 77.

SATURDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 79.
