Weather: Cool start to work week, warming trend to follow

The cool start to this work week here in Coweta County will be a memory by the end of the week as high temperatures are expected to reach 70 degrees, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Today’s high is forecast to be 62 degrees with an overnight low of 33. By Friday, the NWS says Coweta County will have a high of 71 and an overnight low of 57. 

No rain chances are mentioned in the extended forecast through Friday afternoon. The first chance appears Friday night at 20 percent. 

This week’s high temperatures will be 63 on Tuesday and Wednesday, 69 on Thursday before topping the 70-mark on Friday. Overnight lows on Tuesday should be 41, followed by 47 on Wednesday night, 52 Thursday and 57 on Friday evening.

MONDAY NIGHT – Patchy fog after 10pm. Otherwise, clear, with a low around 33. Calm wind.

TUESDAY – Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 63. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 41. East wind around 5 mph.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 63. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

THURSDAY – Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69.

FRIDAY – Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71.

SATURDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70.
