Weather: Mild start to week before rain moves in Wednesday night

The start of the work week will be sunny and mild before rain moves in from Wednesday night to Friday, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Coweta County can expect mostly sunny to sunny skies today and Tuesday with highs near 60 degrees and overnight lows in the mid-to-upper 30s.

Those above conditions change on Wednesday under mostly cloudy skies with a 30 percent rain chance that afternoon with a high forecast for 61. Rain chances increase to 50 percent overnight with a low of 51.

Showers are likely most of the day Thursday and Thursday night – 70 and 80 percent, respectively, but with a high temperature near 68. Showers begin tapering off Friday morning as a cold front moves through and temperatures begin to fall. The high on Friday will be 53 with an overnight low of 28.

Saturday will be sunny and dry with a high near 50.

WEDNESDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

THURSDAY – Showers likely, mainly after 8am. Cloudy, with a high near 68. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

FRIDAY – Showers, mainly before 8am. High near 53. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

SATURDAY – Sunny, with a high near 50.
