Weather: Mostly sunny forecast with rain Tuesday night

The extended weather forecast for Coweta County this week will offer much of the same that it has in the past week or so – mostly sunny skies with mild temperatures. 

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says there will be a blip to the nice weather stretch on Tuesday when a cold front moves through. With the front will be a 70 percent rain chance Tuesday night. But that will be short lived and sunny skies return on Wednesday.

High temperatures will reach 76 today and Tuesday, then drop to 68 following the cold front on Wednesday, then back to 73 on Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows will be around 50 degrees, except dipping to 46 on Wednesday night. 

Rain chances appear again in the forecast on Saturday.

MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the morning.

MONDAY NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

TUESDAY – A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT – A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8pm and 2am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 73.

FRIDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 73.

SATURDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 67.
