Weather: Rain likely Tuesday, rest of the week sunny, warm

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect mostly sunny skies throughout the upcoming work week, with Tuesday being the exception.

A cold front will move through the area on Tuesday and with it bring a 60 percent chance of showers and a high temperature of only 72. After it passes, sunny skies are expected through the weekend.

Today’s high temperature will be the warmest of the week at 84 degrees. Forecast highs for the remainder of the week are as follows – 75 on Wednesday, 79 Thursday, 80 Friday and 83 on Saturday.

Overnight lows start tonight at 60, then 47 and 48 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, respectively, then 53 Thursday and 56 Friday.

MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the morning.

MONDAY NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. Calm wind.

TUESDAY – A chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between noon and 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 72. Light west wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

TUESDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 75. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 79.

FRIDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 83.
