Weather: Rain early in week, clearing starts Wednesday

It’s a simple tale of two weather types this week in Coweta County, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
The first type is plenty of clouds and rain on Monday and Tuesday with cooler temperatures. Folks can expect a 70 percent rain chance today with the high falling to around 58 degrees by 5 p.m. And tomorrow and tomorrow night, expect rain chances from 80-100 percent with the high in the 40s.
The second type is sunny and dry which begins on Wednesday. Northwest winds will be at 5-10 mph, gusting to 15 which will keep the high in the upper 50s.
Thursday and Friday will be mostly sunny and clear with highs in the low 60s and overnight lows in the 30s.
The weekend forecast for now will be sunny and dry with highs near 60.

MONDAY – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 58 by 5pm. Southwest wind around 10 mph becoming northwest in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
MONDAY NIGHT – A slight chance of showers before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers after 5am. Cloudy, with a low around 44. North wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
TUESDAY – Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. High near 50. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
TUESDAY NIGHT – Showers. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 40. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
WEDNESDAY – Partly sunny, with a high near 58. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 64.
FRIDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 60.
SATURDAY – Partly sunny, with a high near 59.
